James has over 25 years’ experience as a financial adviser in large financial institutions (MLC, nab and CommSec) as well as boutique firms.

James focuses on building clients’ wealth during pre- and post-retirement. He is experienced in structuring clients’ affairs in the most tax effective manner. A Centrelink and retirement expert, he has assisted many Canberra families with retirement.

Seeing clients’ family situations change for the better is what ultimately motivates him. He is proud that many clients in and around the Canberra region have been with him for nearly 20 years.

James is very pleased to be part of DW Private Wealth especially as it is unaligned to a bank or funds management company. This ensures clients’ goals and aspirations are the number one priority.

James grew up in Albury, attended university and started his career in Brisbane, prior to moving to Canberra nearly 20 years ago. He is married to Louise, a senior public servant, and they have three children, Eve, Sam and Amy.

James is active in the local Canberra community including as a Menslink mentor. His weekends are spent attending and coaching kids’ sport, trying to grow vegetables (badly), and enjoying the odd cool climate red wine.
